Explorer: Post 20

May

May 20-21 -- We have been asked to help Troop 422 with a Friday/Saturday river overnight to practice packing for river trips. The section of river is yet to be determined (because of fluctuating water levels). A couple of strong boaters are needed to help provide safety for them.

Finalize plans for May 20-21 overnight on the Rio Grande, State Park section; experienced boaters may also run Pilar or practice in the slalom gates.

   Joint trip between 422 and ourselves so 422 can get some canoe packing experience for the Green River

   Leave Fri at 4:00 pm -- Arrive back around 6 pm on Saturday

   Option for group coming back early at about noon (LA at about 1:00 pm)

June 4th -- Chama Wilderness Trip -- 18 are signed up for a 16 max permit. We will be doing planning in the coming weeks for this trip. WildernessChama05.pdf

This week's meeting topic -- Summer River Trip Planning. We will have sign-ups for summer river trips. Katie Forman's permits -- Katie will tell us if there are any open slots on these trips

• Gates of Ladore -- June 21st launch, 4 day
